Happy Bird

Once upon a time in a desolate land, villagers who lived there passed each day in the bitter cold without enough to wear or eat．Nobody knew what happiness was, but the elderly believed it existed．They said happiness was a beautiful bird that lived on top of a snow mountain far away, and wherever the happy bird flew there was happiness．However, three goblins guarded the happy bird．Each year people traveled in search of the happy bird, but no one returned．

This year the villagers sent Wang Jia, a clever, goodhearted, and brave man, to search for the happy bird．He set off for his journey and reached the snow mountain where the happy bird lived．Each of the goblins that Wang Jia faced demanded that he carry out an immoral task in exchange to see the happy bird．He refused all of their requests, and as a consequence he was made to suffer．Wang Jia eventually reach the top of the snow mountain, but by now he was exhausted, hungry, wounded and blind．He found the happy bird, it had agreed to return with Wang Jia back to his village, the happy bird had also healed his wounds and eyes．From then on, what was once a poor, bleak and desolate village became a land of happiness．
