Summary – maximizing benefits

Having understood the different drivers of the clouds, it's time that we looked at how to use the hybrid clouds in order to maximize the benefits and returns on investments. 

We can follow some very simple principles to decide the mix. The following table lists a few samples: 

As public clouds become more alike, and with modification of the design principles (moving from IaaS to PaaS), the previous table might change and include a new type of hybrid cloud, which will include multiple public clouds as well. 

In the next chapter, we will take a look at the building blocks for mixing both public and private clouds, maximizing the benefits and using the right tool for the job so we don't fall prey to the law of instrument.
